Zone Meeting
Early the dono (landlord) was here as he promised, and had a man with him to permanently get our electric going. Now we're feeling more first class!! We went to the Vila Nova de Gaia to a zone meeting of the Espinho Zone. It was held at the chapel we've built there—a beautiful building. 20 Elders and 4 Sisters and 2 APs and President and Sister Copeland and us. What a beautiful bunch. São João da Madeira Zone doesn't have a corner on good-looking, hard working missionaries! All was conducted in Portuguese. An Elder Leffler came and sat by Marian and translated for her—unasked, un-beckoned. He just came and sat down by us and started translating. The Zone Meeting was 4½ hours long, and we enjoyed it immensely. Then we went to the Continente and bought stuff for our refrigerator—a lot of stuff! It's good to know we can keep milk now (We still can't cook—no stove.)! We drove up the hill in the evening and saw some more of the town. There are some beautiful homes up there! Real good to be able to study 'til we feel like going to bed—electric lights, you know!
