Meeting with Xavier Dias in Porto
Meeting with Xavier Dias in Porto, but first a trip to the laundry to get sheets and shirts done. We hit a first-rate mess on the auto estrada (highway) on the way in. The traffic was horrible all the way in through Vila Nova da Gaia and up Boa Vista and Constiuiçao! Stops and inching forward. The trip took us nearly 2 hours—more than double what it should. Lots of large trucks. The meeting with Xavier on Seminary matters was much appreciated. I think he felt good about our assignment, and he clarified some areas that needed it. He will be good to work with. We called Faustino in Madrid and cleared the sharing of expenses with CES. On the the mission office, pay our bill, buy a Book of Mormon, etc. Then we tried to find a papeleria (paper store) but couldn't find one open. Some shopping at the Continente, ironing board and kitchen chairs and bakc to SJM. After a good dinner cooked by my sweetheart, we took a walk, then a drive and saw some more country. Book work and study at night.
