This was a travel day. I finally took the trip from California to Mesa that I said I would! Down PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) to San Clemente and Oceanside—oh, what lovely ocean scenes. The day was perfect. Leaving I-5 at Oceanside, we went inland and upland on Route 76, then 79 through Bonsall, Warner Springs, Julian and down to its intersection with I-8. What a neat, nice country! Lakes and meadows and forests of both low altitude live oak and higher altitude pine and little nice valleys. We stopped at Julian for cider and goodies. A little snow on the hills there. A nice cool breeze, but not cold. Then on to Yuma, up through Maricopa to Mesa. The trip took an extra 100 miles and 2 ½ hours, but was well worth it! We spent the night at Mom’s by the temple.
